New Bed & Breakfast and Campsite Open!“Abercoed” is a small family run Biker friendly, b+b / caravan / camp / site. Aprox ¾ of a mile outside the town of Tregaron. The official Abercoed website is under development but the price list is as follows:
Situated in beautiful rolling welsh countryside, opposite the river teifi just outside the “smallest” town in Ceredigion. It is the birthplace of “Henry Richard” campaigning m.p. & leader of the peace movement, Tregaron is also “kite country “once the last bastion of the red kite in Great Britain & now a stronghold for this beautiful bird of prey-the red kite museum & information centre is only a 10 min walk away. In fact whatever you are into… Fishing / walking / canoeing / cycling/ bird watching / motorcycling / take your pick. .all are catered for in & around this location. Tregaron is the “gateway” to the Cambrian Mountains & is surrounded by beautiful country on all sides. It also the home of the tregaron bog ” cors caron “ nature reserve which is said to be one of the finest raised bog systems in the whole of the u.k. & also the favourite haunt & hunting ground of the red kite…presenting wonderful opportunities for bird watchers, nature lovers, walkers & photographers. “Abercoed” is a georgian country farmhouse with its own stream & aprox 4 acres of land & is suitable for mature travellers seeking avery private retreat from the hustle & bustle of everyday life, we can accommodate aprox 6 touring caravans/ motor homes & have plenty of room for camping. For those less adventurous souls we have rooms available in the farmhouse with full bed & breakfast – (2 large doubles & 2 single rooms can be available) We are situated one mile outside of tregaron on the (a)b4343 with easy access to local amenities & the university town of Aberystwyth (18) miles away - 30 mins by car & an hourly bus service which stops right outside the front gate. If you are touring on a motorcycle use us as a base for your travels around the fantastic roads of mid west Wales to visit places like: the waterfalls at “ devils bridge “ or travel further north & discover places like portmeirion where the hit 1960`s t.v. Series the prisoner was filmed. We can supply secure parking for your bike & our camping field & barn is also available for small to medium sized bike rally’s (300/500 people) (subject to availability) along with outbuildings….if it is just a short break or an extended stay you will sure of a warm welcome from your hosts Jane & Steve….come & see us soon.
